Covid Response Initiative in Sudurpaschim

UNDP is repurposing and readjusting its programmes with the aim to respond to the needs of the provincial and local governments to enhance its response capacity to the pandemic. UNDPs’ Covid Response Initiative in Sudurpaschim handed over 200 tents, 20 water containers and 45 kg of plastic ropes. The tent set up was done with support from Nepal Police in the Dashgajha area. Many migrant workers from India are returning to Nepal from this particular border entry point.

To raise the awareness of the public regarding COVID-19, various Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials. In terms of quarantine management, UNDP developed the poster following the standards approved by WHO for quarantine set up. In the localized context, UNDP added the management perspective  which includes  registration of the returnees, quarantine set up, verfication of the medical certificate/discharge slip etc.
