Title: N-Peace Awards 2014: Nominations are now open!

Nominations for the 2014 N-Peace Awards are now open!

We can't wait to read all the stories of women's leadership and peacebuilding that are sure to come through in nominations this year. As well as welcoming Myanmar and Pakistan to the awards this year, there are some exciting new categories.

Do you know an untold story of peace about a woman in your community? Great! Nominate her in Untold Stories – Women Transforming their Communities.

Have you seen a woman in the media trying to change attitudes around women, peace and security? She would be an ideal nominee in Breaking Stereotypes – Women and Media.

What about young people? Are there any young men or women you know who are just starting their peacebuilding journey, but who you know will go far? The Peace Generation – Young Women and Men Building Peace is the category you should nominate them in.

Is there a woman or man in your country who actively campaigns for peace and mobilizes both people and resources to achieve change? Nominate them in the category Campaigning for Action – Women and Men Mobilizing for Peace.

Have you witnessed an innovative peace solution? This year we are also looking for a local not-for-profit that is successfully implementing an innovative and original solution for lasting change. Nominate the organization you have seen doing this in the category Thinking Outside the Box – Bringing New Solutions to Persistent Problems.

Nominations will remain open for the next six weeks (31 March to 9 May) and you can nominate as many times and in as many categories as you like. The full eligibility criteria for each category is available to read on the N-Peace website. The stories of last year's awardees are also online and make great reading if you need some inspiration when thinking about who to nominate this year.
